Important Moalboal Info
Day Trip To Kawasan & Canyoneering
Avoid Weekend Crowds
Bring Or Rent A Snorkel
Moalboal is an amazing diving spot to see turtles and the amazing sardine run (Think thousands of sardines all swimming around you!). There is also a beautiful white sand beach which is virtually deserted during the week if you able to time your visit. You are close to 3 major attractions on Cebu, Kawasan Falls, Canyoneering and Osmena Peak.
Transportation can be a little more than other places here, especially if you are a foreigner. My suggestion is to rent a motorbike either at your hotel or in Cebu City and tour yourself around to the travel destinations to avoid the higher than normal prices.

My Moalboal Experiences
The first time I went to Moalboal I was there for a quick weekend retreat. The weather didn’t really cooperate so it was mostly windy and rainy so I decided to rent a ‘Treehouse’ which not your traditional tree house, it was up in the trees and was beautifully built out of natural materials. The beach was beautiful and there were sea turtles abound when snorkeling around the drop off close to shore.
My second trip to Moalboal I spend a day island hopping and snorkeling near the dive town. The water was clear and fantastic for snorkeling. We were in the water for well over 90 minutes but I could have spent all day there just exploring the island. I have used moalboal as a jumping off point for several of the other activites in the area like Kawasan Falls and Cayoneering. All and all its a great home base while you explore the western side of Cebu.
